I’m a traveling man, Straight from the can. I’m a thousand miles away from my number one fan... ~ Traveling man Ahan panted, feeling his body give way beneath him. His belly sank into the snow and he just laid there. Exhausted. How long had he been running without sustenance, how long had it been? A day? Two? Truthfully the broken spirited red wolf hadn't had a perception of time since the mission to kill that noble had started. He closed his eyes and shifted his body to lay in the snow on his side. He shivered and sure enough willed himself back to wolf form. Passing through Carvalla had been no issue in disguise. Feels good to have my fur and paws back... Or rather it would if I could feel them. he thought to himself. S'not so bad being numb. Wonder if it's like this for Cal?

Alane walked up to a wolf laying in the snow. He sat close, leaning next to him. He was used to the constant cold around him, but it looked as if this wolf wasn't.

Ahan opened one eye. He was thankful for the warmth but being so cold had its disadvantages. His throat was dry so he managed a hoarse whisper of, "Thanks." Who was this other wolf and why had they taken pity on him? After all he was a lost cause. He could imagine Zarna's rage right now if he ever came back. If he ever came back. He knew they thought him dead by now. Nobody survives howling in the city... Nobody except Zarna to alert others of his stupid fool-plan. It was a bitter thought.

Alane just sat there. "No problem. You looked like you were going to freeze to death, and I couldn't let that happen in my land." He barked a laugh and just tried to keep Ahan warm. He looked out over the snow and said, "Eat some snow, it melts and it makes water for you."

The weak wolf nodded. He was happy to have somebody he could at least consider to be a friend out here. "Name's Ahan." he said before he turned his head away and snapped some snow up into his mouth. It was cold but a few moments later it melted in his mouth. It felt pleasant to have it swallowed down his rough throat.

Alane felt his heart sink. "Ahan....the wanted wolf?" He shook, but not from the guild, but from the thought that the great Zarna wanted the wolf right next to him, but he would not leave the wolf. His body was cold, even though the wolf was probably dangerous. He swallowed a lump and said, "Alane...s-sorry for the freak out..." Suddenly, a lone wolf split the howling. "No!" Alane started digging a hole, and nudged Ahan into it and then made one for himself. Then he buried them both. Alane's breath came out rugded, and clumsy, from the threats.

Ahan wasn't sure what was happening but he stayed in the hole, thankful to have moved. He could feel the cold in his limbs creeping closer and closer to stopping his heart but he was a fighter. He wouldn't let a little cold numb his intelligence to the fuller extent. Wanted wolf eh? It seems Zarna did care after all. Damn.

The howls were muffled from the dome that Alane made. The distance seemed to be growing too. Alane sighed out of relief, and said, "Those are the snow wolfs. A group of thug wolves that rule this area. They know all about your bounty, and they seem determined to get it, and I think they might just make it." Alane sighed and looked at the cold around them.

"No worries. Thanks for the explanation but it's no problem. If they're thugs they don't plan. This is a downfall especially since winds are starting to kick up. Soon my scent will be spread over the whole area. It's miles. They will never get me." Ahan replied.

"But we will!" A muzzle shot threw the snow and bit Alane in the back of the neck. Alane barked, kicking snow at the wolf attacking him. He growled and bit back as if he was being burned. He thrashed and got loose. He gritted his teeth as he smashed into the snow as the wolf jumped onto his back. He howled as the wolf bit his neck. Crimson blood laid on the ground. He landed on Ahan's den, smashing it in. He growled and stood over it. He looked at the wolf...Tey. "Miss me?" The white wolf blending in, only for the black on its paws. Tey smiled, teeth red from Alane's blood. "Are you still the weak thing I remember?!" The wolf then launched again. Alane grunted when Tey's teeth dug into his shoulder, releashing more blood. Alane spun in the grip, shreding some muscle. He bit into the wolf's neck, deep. Tey leaped back. "Damn you!" Blood fell into the snow, making the ground look like it was almost all red. Tey raised his muzzle to the air, singaling where they were. Alane shrunk back as if it was a dagger to his heart. He growled as he leaped at Tey, into another fight.

Ahan let out a battle cry of a snarl and jumped up, doing his best to do so even despite his current handicaps. He lunged for Tey with his teeth bared. "Leave him alone!" he shouted.
He felt he knew this type of wolf. Tey was somebody who did what he did for pleasure and self-service, to torture the minds of the weak while playing every single detail of something to his strengths. Ahan indeed knew this type of wolf...and was ready.

Tey knew the attack of Ahan coming. He leaped back into the sudden gusts of snow. Everything around them seemed calm, except the blood on the ground showed the struggle. Alane looked around them, body tense. "This is the worest about being in the Snow Wolves territory. They know all the tricks." All of a sudden, a figure bolted towards Ahan, Tey. Alane saw him coming, and tried to howl to Ahan, but powerful jaws bit his hind leg. He turned to see a large with wolf holding him back, all white, with green eyes. The brute swung his head, making Alane go air borne.

Ahan saw it. He knew the strategy. He dodged and ran in Alane's direction, intercepting the smaller wolf to break his fall. "You okay?" he asked, his eyes still focused on Tey and the other Snow Wolves. This wasn't going well. Time to adjust my strategy... Zarna probably alerted everyone of my mental skills as well. They're trying to keep me from having time to think.

More wolves stepped out of the snow. Alane looked at Ahan. "How long can we take this?!" Alane's body slowly got tired, and his blood came out quicker now. He suddenly heard foot-steps through the blizzard. Suddenly, three wolves broke through the fight. Alane remembered them quickly. "Volug! Tsume! Toboe!" He barked with glee.

He didn't recognize them but he couldn't help but smile. "Boy are we glad to see you. Explain who you are later. Right now we have bigger issues." With that his gaze shifted to the Snow Wolves. Can we win this...? he wondered, eyes full of contemplation.
