Volug growled and leaped at a wolf, his mind set. His teeth latched on the wolf's white coat, and he pulled back with full strength. Volug spit out a chunk of fur and skin. He looked at Toboe, who was dancing around a larger wolf, snapping when the chance came. Tsume was not doing near enough of defense. He took out two wolves already, but he look as if he was a living dead. Alane was taking his time fighting with a wolf. His eyes were full of hatered, as if he knew the wolf. Both seemed to be equally matched. Volug leaped back into a furry and unleashed on another wolf.

Ahan normally would still be calculating, watching, but he decided against sitting around this time. With a considerable amount of speed he surged forward despite his leg injury. He opened his mouth and bared his teeth this time chomping down on the fur of the wolf Alane was fighting. He wouldn't let the equal match-up cause the group problems. "Urf..." he mumbled between his shut jaws.

Soon Tey fell back from the fray and barked a cry. The beaten wolves retreated, but their blood didn't make their retreat unseen. Tey smiled and slowly backed into the snow. "Time will not pass fast in our turf. Bring it Alane...bring it." Tey finally turned and ran. Alane sighed and looked at the party. Volug's air of power was taking place as he looked over everyone and sighed. "Everyone tend to your wounds, and make sure there covered in ice." He started to check up on Toboe. Alane hopped over to Ahan and smiled. "We got em!" He start to lay ice on the wounds to make them stop bleeding.

Ahan limped a few paces and then laid down on the ice with a nod. "Yes... we won." Once again his mind went back to his usual train of thoughts. How long? How much had they won? How much was it assured the wolves would not return for another round of fighting while they were weak?
He stood again and then went over to Volug with a slight lowering of his head in respect. "Thank you." He paused to nod to Toboe and Tsume. "Thank all of you."

Volug dipped his head and looked back to Ahan. "What are you doing here?" Tsume looked at Ahan didn't seemed to be pleased with the current situation they were caught in. Toboe was just licking his wounds, talking to Alane like they were little friends that reunited after a long break away from each other.

Ahan blinked a few times as if the question wasn't hitting him right. He didn't know if he should take it as an insult or not. Instead of over thinking it he just tilted his head. "What do you mean by that? Am I not supposed to be here? After all I'm just a wandering wolf. I have no real significance unless you choose to anoint one to me as Zarna seems to have done by offering a bounty."
Damn his stupid- No. Stop talking that way. Zarna's a good wolf he's just mad. he thought to himself.

Volug looked at the wolf's question, as if he was mocking him, by asking a question in return. "I mean, why would Zarna want you?" He could only imagine how dangerous this wolf could be if Zarna wanted him. Chances were that a fight would break out if he tried to take the wolf back. "Zarna has his gang, and power. We aren't getting involved with that."

Ahan sort of looked forlornly up at the sky where the flakes of snow swept up by the slight breeze ruffled through his fur swirled without shape or form much like his current life. "If you knew me you would know why. Once I was in Zarna's pack. Once I was his strategist. I left. I am not going back." His gaze met Volug's again, seriousness behind it enough to finalize his words. "I'm just not."

Volug didn't move his eyes from Ahan. He looked at the snow around him, imagining the more snow that would be filled with more blood. "Fine. Come with us." He looked at Tsume and nodded. Tsume ran into the snow, and Toboe followed. "Time to move." He turned and slowly moved on. Alane was following too.

Not wanting to be alone, Ahan jogged to the best of his ability to catch up and then walked beside Toboe and Alane. New friends? He could only hope in time they would allow him to consider them such. Perhaps not Tsume... The wolf reminded him of Roca a little: strong, distant, silent, etc. It made a small smile curl on his muzzle. Maybe he was more suited to this group after all.

Volug pulled through the snow and turned to make sure the group was following. He knew the snow wolves were out here. He didn't care if Ahan was bounty, he was against the rebellion, so he wasn't going to help them. Howls erputed over the chill of the wind. He heard Toboe come closer to him. "Hey. We need shelter." Voulg only nodded, he knew it was try.

The red wolf's ear twitched and perked up at the word 'shelter'. It was true but where would they stay in a place like this especially with their medium sized group? Sure maybe one or two wolves could stay in an abandoned den from a snow hare if they took the time to dig it out large enough but how would they shelter the five of them? Volug, Tsume, Toboe, Alane, and Ahan were in trouble and the strategist knew it. He couldn't help but growl in slight annoyance at himself. Why couldn't he think of a solution? Was he really so out of his element or just out of his game?

the wind blew Harshly whipping Jaspers brown pelt this way and that as he trotted along with the snow stinging his eyes and nose. He thought for a moment that he had seen others but he wasn't sure so he stopped and looked to the spot where he had seen them last."This goes against my better judgment but I'm gonna die out here anyway so I might as well take the chance"he muttered before padding in the direction of the other wolves.
It seemed that he had just missed them but not by much, he could see their tracks n the snow thought they were quickly being covered by the wind and he could even spot a dug out hole where one of them had laid. Deciding that waiting it out would be a good idea Jasper curled up in the already dug whole and tucked his nose under his tail, this would be a long wait for the very impatient wolf but he would just have to manage.

Volug quickly found a small cave. It would never fit them all, and everyone else knew it. "Alane, and Ahan, stay in the cave for now." He barked his command and turned to Toboe and Tsume. "You two go and search the area, anything we can eat, bring it back." Toboe nodded, as Tsume dashed from the cave. Volug looked back and stood at the opening of the cave, not in it, but not out.

Ahan curled up in the back of the cave where he could be easily hidden by the bodies of Volug and Alane. Being the type of wolf he was he had a lean body which was good since he had to scrunch up as much as he could in the cramped space of the cave.
Plus it was just warmer back there than it was closer to the cave's mouth. He made sure he was touching Alane since their body heat was best shared for the sake of keeping them both alive through the cold.
"Hey Volug? Thank you... If you can fit you should come in more. Even if you can't entirely keep out of the snow you should at least try to share some warmth for now," the red wolf suggested.
